1. Total box-office revenue for 2009 counted up 206,035 million Yen, 105.7% to the previous year. The highest record is 210,914 million Yen for 2004.
2. The total number of admissions increased again from 160,491 thousand to 169,297thousand tickets, 105.5%.
3. The screen count continuously increased from 1,734 in 1933 to 3,396 last year. Thirty seven (37) screens were added during 2009.
4. Population: 127,540 thousand as of August 1, 2009.
5. Total box-office revenue for the Japanese films increased from 115,859 million Yen to 117, 309 million Yen. The foreign films also increased 12.34% to 88,726 million Yen. Breakdown of the total 206,035 million Yen is 57% for the Japanese films and 43% for the foreign films.
6. The total number of films released in Japan decreased from 806 films to 762 films. However, the Japanese films released in Japan increased from 418 to 448 while the foreign films decreased from 388 to 314.
